Is this advice, or does it change our infrastructure?

Advice, with the change written out. It produces the design, the reasoning and the template; applying it goes through your normal pipeline. An agent with write access to production infrastructure is a bad trade for the time it saves.

Which clouds?

AWS, Azure, GCP and OCI, including hybrid. Depth differs by provider and by service, and it will tell you when a recommendation is weaker on one because the equivalent service genuinely differs.

Does it just recite the Well-Architected pillars back at us?

The pillars are the checklist, not the output. A finding without your account, your workload and what it costs you is a framework summary, and you can already read those for free.

Can it help with cost, or only design?

Both, and they are usually the same conversation. Most cost findings are architecture findings — the instance never resized, the storage class never revisited, the environment nobody switched off.

What access does it need?

Read access to configuration and billing. Not to data, not to workloads. For most estates that is a read-only role plus cost visibility.

Will it recommend the newest service every time?

No. A migration has a cost and a risk, and both belong in the recommendation. Where staying put is right, it should say so — that is the advice you are least likely to get elsewhere.
