Autonomous Operation Workflow
- Write the criteria first; the questions come from them, not the reverse.
- Tell candidates plainly that the first round is conducted by an agent.
- Pilot on a role you are already recruiting for, alongside your usual screen.
- Compare its notes against your recruiter's on the same candidates.
- Keep the hiring decision, and the follow-up interview, with people.
- Set retention in line with your obligations, not the default.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does it decide who gets hired?
No. It conducts a structured first-round conversation and reports what was said against the criteria you set. Hiring decisions carry legal weight and belong to people who can be accountable for them.
Is it fair?
Structure helps: every candidate gets the same questions, scored against the same written criteria, which removes some of the variance that makes human first rounds inconsistent. It does not remove bias from the criteria themselves, and criteria are where most hiring bias actually lives.
Will candidates hate it?
Some will, and you should tell them what it is up front rather than have them find out. Candidates generally accept it for a first screen when the alternative was no reply at all; presenting it as a human conversation is where trust is lost.
What does it produce?
A transcript, the responses mapped to your criteria, and the points a human interviewer should follow up. Not a score to rank people by without reading.
Does it handle technical screening?
For knowledge-based questions, yes. For work-sample assessment, a real exercise reviewed by a practitioner is still better and we will say so rather than sell you the agent.
What about candidate data?
It stays in your systems under your retention policy. Recruitment data carries specific obligations in most jurisdictions, and those are yours to set.
