What does it audit?

How your AI systems are actually being used against how you said they would be: which models are in use, on what data, by whom, with what human oversight, and where that has drifted from the policy.

Is this about model behaviour or about process?

Mostly process, because that is where the exposure usually is. An excellent model used on data nobody approved, with no record of who reviewed the output, is the finding — not the model's benchmark score.

How does it discover shadow usage?

From the places usage leaves traces: API keys, expense lines, network egress, connected applications. It will not find everything, and it says so. An audit that claims complete discovery of shadow AI is not being straight with you.

Does it map to a specific framework?

It maps findings to the frameworks you name — ISO 42001, the NIST AI RMF, your internal policy. It does not certify you against any of them, and no software can.

What comes out of it?

A register of systems in use, the gaps against your stated policy, and an owner-ready action for each. Written so it can be handed to a risk committee without translation.

How often should this run?
